From the Bagoy’s email newsletter:
“Alaskans need and deserve the beauty of Spring after our long, dark winters”, says Chanda Mines, Owner of Bagoy’s. Inspiration for this event came during a March snowstorm over 15 years ago. “We continually see how happy spring flowers make people feel…and even happier when we surprise them with a gift. So we do!”

Dana’s daughter, Lauren, recently passed away. She suffered from a very rare problem: Bohring – Optiz Syndrome, and their family had to deal with many challenges during her short time with them.
You can learn more about Lauren here, and the event here.
Thanks for one of our Facebook fans, Gina, who let us know about a giveaway the Dimond Center mall is doing for gift cards to use at the mall. Like them on Facebook to enter their sweepstakes. Thanks for the info, Gina!

What a pretty picture… about this time of year I start wondering when we’re going to see green again. Send your friends a copy of the state’s official “Travel Alaska” vacation planner and they’ll be wanting to come visit you this summer! Or just grab one for yourself and ideas on what to get out and see this summer.
Any Once Upon a Child shoppers out there? I’ve had varied success with their clearance events, but sometimes I do get lucky! On Feb. 12th from 9:30 – 7:30, everything you can fit in their bag is just $10 (all clearance, that is!)!
Evelynn wrote to let us know about a sale at Alaska Mill & Feed:
Alaska Mill and Feed has a GREAT sale flyer out right now for dog food! You can check out the info here:
And she included a few notes:
A couple of notes though, they are not open on Sundays and most of the 50% off bear supplies are gone.
Also, they are having a “Pet New Year” which is going on this Saturday at Alaska Mill and Feed from 11:00 until 3:00. Door prizes, vaccinations, food and coffee, and much much more!
Thanks for the note, Evelynn!
Today is Nichole’s birthday, and I wanted to give her a big Happy Birthday shout out: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! She is the inspirational half of the Good Deal Divas, and great fun to run this website with.
Did you know we have a birthday section where we try to list all the great birthday freebies you can get? Check it out, and if you see that we’re missing something grand please leave a comment here so we can update our list!
