Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway!

When I think about Thanksgiving what comes to mind is family and friends gathering together around a table full of delicious foods. For my family it’s a time when we reflect on what we are thankful for and how much we have been blessed.

Unfortunately, with all of the changes in our economy I know that some of you may not be looking forward to Thanksgiving with joy and a sense of peace.

This is why Good Deal Divas and several of my sweet blogging friends have joined together to help put a little hope back into someones Thanksgiving. We have teamed up to award (1) lucky reader $136 in cash for their Thanksgiving meal!

For us, Thanksgiving is about being thankful for what we have and even those things we don’t have. It’s about giving what we can and giving even when we may think we have nothing to give.

While I would have loved to have raised more money to give away, I’m thankful for the prize pot we have and know that it will bless a few lucky readers.

Here’s how to enter for a chance to win:

I am thankful that my husband and I were able to afford rent this month! We just moved from Illinois to New Jersey-away from all of our family in the midwest-and things got tough when I lost my job immediately after the move (our company transferred both of us out here).

BUT I am also thankful because I hated that stupid company anyways, and I know God has something better for me! :)

we have been tested severely this last month, my husband walked out on my daughter and i on oct 1. it has been a hard struggle, i wasnt prepared. i had nothing ready in case something like this happened, and i should have. he left us with no money, no income, (im disabled and waiting on social security to come thru) but i was thankful i had saved some christmas money that bought us groceries and gas for the car, we still have a house over our head, and we won a box of food this last wkend, and we are very thankful for that. im thankful that my car runs most of the time, that i have family close and they are supportive. im thankful that i have a counselor who is there to get me back on my feet. i will make it, it wont be easy, but nothing worth anything is easy right? we would love to win this, since my mom is on social security, and she cant help much, this would be our thanksgiving meal. thanks for the chance!

I’m thankful that even though my daughters live in Ontario Canada and I live in Mesa, Arizona, we still text everyday and talk on the phone at least 3-4 times per week, and that we are still so close emotionally. I’m also thankful to have found my husband of 4 years. He is the best man I could have ever hoped for.

We have been devastated by the economy! What has helped us stay thankful is our children being healthy and happy! Kids never really seem to be bothered by things like forclosure, and bills.

Being thankful took on a new meaning this year since we have my husband and children’s daddy home with us this year. After 2 deployments, we are always grateful when he is with us to share in and enjoy our holidays. Thanking God for His Blessings and kindness are a daily happening even though the economy is not as supportive of his return as we are!

I’m very happy with the savings I’ve gotten from couponing at a time when the price of everything is rising (except my husband’s salary!) A little time spent organizing my shopping trips has paid for my live theater habit a couple of times this year. :)

No matter how little we have monetarily, we still have each other. And that is a lot to be thankful for. We’re all alive and in decent health and quite possibly our situation has brought us even closer.

Even though we have had tough economic times, I continue to be grateful for my family and for bloggers like you that help us get through these difficult times. We have been very blessed! If I should win this money, I will be purchasing Thanksgiving dinners for the needy through my church. I always do one dinner but if I win this, I would be able to do at least 4! What a blessing that would be for my town! Thanks!

I am so thankful for a husband who is willing to work far, far away to support this family. He commutes back and forth from Juneau to Anchorage (soon to be Orlando) so we can have a great life. Thanks, babe!

What has continued to make me thankful is that my son at 8 years old is still not having to worry about the economy. All he has to worry about is getting good grades and waking up for school and staying innocent. Yes, he does know that at times we can’t have extravagances like eating out all the time or buying anything we want at the store, but its not affecting his life at all. Thank you lord!

When I feel down about our debt and what we can’t afford to buy or spend money on, I look around and try to be thankful for what we do have: each other, God, shelter, food, water, clothing. There are so many people out there who would be grateful to have any of those things.
