Did you realize that the prices on the new lines of Amazon Kindles and the Amazon Kindle Fire, are so low that Amazon actually loses money on each one they sale? The can do this because they hope to make up the difference by selling you books, music and other multimedia options. According to this article, the Kindle Fire actually costs $209.83 to manufacture!
Have you checked these out yet? What do you think? Is there a need for a $500 iPad if you can get a Kindle Fire for just $199? I would love to have a discussion in the comments about these. If I didn’t already have a Nook, I know I would be jumping on these prices!

I recently bought a Kindle Gen 3 and I love it! If I hadn’t made that purchase, I would definately pre-order the new Kindle Touch, but I’m not really into the Fire just because I want my device to be a reader, not a distraction… I also like the ‘reads like paper’ feature, which Fire would not provide, due to the colour. =)
I don’t own an e-reader yet, but I do have the Kindle app on my iPod and desktop. I am planning to get the Kindle Fire. I’m glad I haven’t bought one until now. Way to go Amazon!
