We recieved this email from a reader (we get these every few weeks with the exact same question):
Hey Ladies,
I have a quick coupon question for you–I used a printed coupon the other day at Walmart (printed from my home computer),
the lady working there “honored” it as a “one time” favor, telling me that Walmart does not accept “printed from home” coupons.
Is that correct?
Answer: No! That is not correct. Honestly, Walmart makes me crazy. How can a company so completely fail to train their employees and still function and make money? Here is their coupon policy from their website:
Walmart Coupon Policy
Walmart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):
* Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
* Free merchandise (or manufacturer’s Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
* Store coupons
* Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
* Internet coupons
* Soft drink container caps
The following are guidelines and limits:
* Walmart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
* Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Walmart will not accept expired coupons.
* Internet coupons should be legible and say “Manufacturer Coupon.” There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
* Only one coupon per item is permitted.
* Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager
Be sure to keep this with you when shopping at Walmart! Print it off and keep it with your coupons and hopefully it will save you a headache.

Had this happen to me too at the Wasilla walmart, only she wouldn’t honor the coupon. I was going to bring up walmarts website on my phone and show her the policy, but I just put the item back and bought it at Fred Meyer later. Honestly, the only reason I ever go to walmart anymore is that it is the closest store to my house if I just need milk or something quick. Otherwise, I try to avoid it. The customer service and shopping experience is way better at Fred Meyer and Target and Most of the things I buy I can get for about the same or cheaper elsewhere anyway
