Safeway’s Just 4 U Program

Thanks to one of our Hawaii readers, Charlotte, who wrote up a review of the new Just For U program that Safeway is debuting in the Hawaii area!

All of my friends and family know that I am big on saving money. Coupon clipping, sale searching and rebating are just a few ways I accomplish living frugally. When I first heard about the Safeway “Just for You” program I was excited to find out what it was all about and estatic that Hawaii was the first state to kick off this program. Within a couple of minutes I was able to register my Safeway card online and get an understanding about the three components to this new program; Personalized Deals, Coupon Center and Club Specials. Safeway has tailored deals, electronic coupons and specials based on your shopping where you can check off the items you want and print off a shopping list.

With my Safeway card, shopping list and my trusty coupon holder I eagerly drove to supermarket. It was definitely apparent that the program was underway as I walked past lawn signs, store banners and a make-shift registration table near the entrance. The friendly “Just for You” ambassadors were encouraging customers to sign up and luring them with the offer of a dozen eggs for free. I smiled with satisfaction as I walked past and was amazed with number of shelf talkers promoting the program. After selecting my free eggs, I also picked up a couple of items from my Personalized Deals and a few other items to pair with the club sales and electronic coupons. I then went to the checkout and was highly satisfied that all my items were properly recorded and a summary of my Just for U savings was printed on the bottom of my receipt.

Since my first trip, I have frequently checked my Just for You website to find additional Personalized Deals and coupons added. There are fairly long expiration dates for one-time use electronic coupons and unlimited use personalized deals. Although I am not loyal to one grocery store, this program has since steered me to Safeway more frequently than the other markets. I am hoping that my purchases will result in more deals and savings.

So if you don’t like clipping coupons join “Just for You”, claim your free eggs and start saving on your groceries!

Thanks for the write up, Charlotte! Want to register your card with the program? Go check it out here.

** Note: Safeway provided us (Charlotte!) with a gift card to try their new program and write up a review about it.  They are also providing us with the one to give away!  Want to win it?  Check out our giveaway post later today!

Workers told me about this program before it was introduced to the public.
    I am excited about it.
My family and I have been shopping more so at Safefway. because of the wonderful
turnover of their meats, vegetables , etc.
My daughters and I have just recently realized that, we have seen many “Mom and Pop” stores close, but feel, that an equal one has taken it’s place. It is because of the friendliness, cleanliness of the store, and quick service. Everyone seems to be smiling and accomodating. Most of the prices are reasonable. It helps to balance the awful things that are happening in our global economy.
I love your Kapahulu store. Awesome!!
We shop at Hawai’i Kai most ot the time.
Thank you for preserving an inkling of the past at this time. Reasonable, friendly and caring.
Mahalo for taking care of us like a “big brother in the community.”
Julie and family. Friends, too, I am sure.
