The tap water at our house is not so good. We had tried the Britta faucet mount filter which lasted about 6 months before it started leaking where it screwed onto the faucet.

Target had a great sale on the Pur pitcher a while back for $12, and a 3 pack of filters for $10 w/a $5 Target gc. Couldn't beat that deal and am saving a bundle on bottled water.

Wow I am amazed that you both like AK water! Where else have you lived? And what is the source of your AK water? Speaking from experience I really dislike the water in Palmer. I don't live there but I know when I eat at that hotel in downtown Palmer the water is so bad that it ruins the tea. I live in Wasilla and we have well water and it is REALLY bad and goes through two filters before we drink it. First a reverse osmosis filter that we had installed when we had our water softener put in and then it goes through the fridge filter.
I actually do not drink bottled water, I think it is silly to use all of those bottles and cause all of that recycling. But then I drink Sobe so go figure!
I think the best water I have ever had was mountain spring water when we lived in the Appalachians, pure, wow.

I agree that AK water is by far the best! I've lived in a lot of places and this is water is like bottled water to me. When my mom visited from Texas, she even noticed how great the tap was. I do occassionally buy SmartWater when it's on sale but the tap is fine for me. I'm sure I'll miss it when we leave :(
