Bottled Water Stock Up Prices/Stores

You may notice we don’t feature a lot of beverages in our store match ups.  Once in a while, yes, but not too often.  Coffee and alcohol?  We’re both abstainers, due to religious choice, and have no idea on good prices.  Soda pop/juice?  I don’t know about Nichole, but I just don’t buy a lot of that.  I get my sugar from baking, so I don’t need it from what I drink.  :-)  I do have a general idea on what a good price point would be for soda and juice though, so if I notice super deals I pull them out.

Bottled water?  I never buy it, but we do have a lot of readers who mention water deals, so I put out a query on Facebook to find out what a great price is.    Here are your price points, and where you find it:

$3.50 for a 24 pack at Lowes or Home Depot

$3.50 for 35 at Costco

$4.00 for a 24 pack at F.M./Carrs

$3.50 for a 24 pack of Nestle Pure Life at Toys R Us ($1/1 coupons available too)

The place not to buy it?!  Kotzebue – $29.99 for a 24 pack, IKES!

Do you drink bottled water?  If so, why?  Share!

Do you use a filter system on  your tap water?  Which one and what do you pay for filters?

Do you love Alaska water (it’s rated among the best in the nation, I, personally, love it!)?   One reader mentioned she gets her spring water at mile 109 on the highway.  :-) If so, what’s your preferred water bottle of choice?  Leave a note and I’ll write up another post highlighting awesome water bottles!

The tap water at our house is not so good. We had tried the Britta faucet mount filter which lasted about 6 months before it started leaking where it screwed onto the faucet.

Target had a great sale on the Pur pitcher a while back for $12, and a 3 pack of filters for $10 w/a $5 Target gc. Couldn’t beat that deal and am saving a bundle on bottled water.

Wow I am amazed that you both like AK water! Where else have you lived? And what is the source of your AK water? Speaking from experience I really dislike the water in Palmer. I don’t live there but I know when I eat at that hotel in downtown Palmer the water is so bad that it ruins the tea. I live in Wasilla and we have well water and it is REALLY bad and goes through two filters before we drink it. First a reverse osmosis filter that we had installed when we had our water softener put in and then it goes through the fridge filter.
I actually do not drink bottled water, I think it is silly to use all of those bottles and cause all of that recycling. But then I drink Sobe so go figure!
I think the best water I have ever had was mountain spring water when we lived in the Appalachians, pure, wow.

I agree that AK water is by far the best! I’ve lived in a lot of places and this is water is like bottled water to me. When my mom visited from Texas, she even noticed how great the tap was. I do occassionally buy SmartWater when it’s on sale but the tap is fine for me. I’m sure I’ll miss it when we leave :(
