It’s worth stopping into (they have Anchorage and Valley locations) for a fun eye candy shopping trip. Nichole and I were in the store yesterday, to select something for our giveaway, and I was quite pleasantly surprised by the experience.
The last time I was in the store (years ago) I remember it as being all upscale appliances and cookware that was completely out of my price range. Although they do specialize in some of the upscale brands (Viking, anyone?!!), they also have a huge selection of products in my price range. They sell brands I see at the big box stores, and for the same prices. I know that when I have a choice to shop local or shop chains, I shop local. They also have a great variety of cooking and baking gadgets that you won’t find anywhere else. If you have a foodie on your Christmas list (or if you’re one), stop by for too many great ideas for gifts!
If you haven’t been in the store before, Black Friday may be the day to check them out – if you’re up for an early morning, that is! On Black Friday both of their stores have a Christmas tree set up, loaded with 200 gift cards valued between $10 and $500 (no minimum purchase required). You can use these on any non discounted items in the store. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? I can imagine altogether too many things I could do with $500 at an awesome kitchen store!
