Target 10/11 – 10/16

If you’re in Anchorage, the new Target store has some “new store specials” that might be worth checking out!  Kashi cereal (a select type) is on a great deal, if you have the $1.50 off printables that were available last week you can combine that with a $1/1 from the Target new store flier for almost free cereal.  Tostitos are also a good buy, and have an in store coupon (bringing them to 2 for $4).

All the stores are having some decent sales right now though.  Victoria wrote us to let us know that there are tons of cleaners on sale, and when you combine the store sales with some of your coupons you can get them for just $.99.  The Potato Heads are at $7.64, and if you use one of your $5 off from coupons.com, you can get them for super cheap.  Fun pumpkin decorating idea with the kids – use the potato head pieces and punch them right into that pumpkin!

On to the weekly deals.  There isn’t a whole lot of excitement, like with the F.M. ad there seems to be more of a focus on Halloween right now!

I'd hang onto your receipts with the cheaper prices and make the other store honor that price. I did that a long time ago with Wallyworld. I had bought some diapers (back when my kids were still in them) at the Dimond store. They were like $3-4 dollars cheaper than the Valley. I made the Valley store honor that price for quite a long time. I had it approved by a manager with their signature on it, so just whipped that out every time I bought diapers.

Target now does "price matching", so I would think they would honor the price of especially their own other store, if you point it out. I sure would.

I actually asked at a couple of the stores and they told me the store with the higher prices had more inventory and people shopped there more often so they could price them higher. The cheaper stores (usually the ones on Eastside) don't have their inventory being bought out as often so they have to drop their prices. So frustrating because I end up going to Sams Club on eastside for cheaper prices on some things but have to go across town to get things that aren't carried on Eastside. I'd rather just do one stop on Southside if they had the better prices. But it's like a $2-3 dif on yogurt, .50 diff on milk, and so much more.

Hmmm… I've noticed that before with Costco and diaper price differences between the two warehouses. I'll have to look more closely at the Target prices and see if it's just on clothes or what else is a bit different between the two stores?

I was SUPER excited for the new Target to open since it is only a couple minute drive from my house. I went Friday night and checked it out. There were a couple kids cloting items I had my eye on but did not buy. I went to the "old" Target the next day and noticed those same clothing items were cheaper. It seems the new Target is pricing items higher – the couple I looked at were only 50 cents more, but that can add up! It really gets me that they are charge more at the south side stores. I have seen Sports Authority, Costco, and Sams do this. Has anyone else run into this problem? I think we should complain!!!!
