I made a quick trip to Carr’s this morning to pick up a few items. I was pretty happy with what I came up with:
1 box Golden Grahams $4.55 on sale for $2.50
1 box of Trix $4.59 on sale for $2.50
1 box of Cocoa Puffs $4.59 on sale for $2.50
I used a $1/3 GM cereals catalina coupon that I had saved and got all three for 6.50…but the good part is that a catalina prints out for a free gallon of milk on your next purchase so in a separate transaction I bought 1 gallon of milk $3.50- used the CAT and got it for free! (you can buy six boxes and get a coupon for two gallons of milk also. This offer expires 7/7)
Back to the first transaction:
2 Kraft Singles packs $ 10.98 on sale for 8.98. Then I used the in ad coupon to make them $1.50 a piece (limit 2) and then I had save an IP from a few months back that gave me $1 off 2 so my total came to $2 OOP (out of pocket)
My total before sales and coupons: 28.21
OOP I spent: $8.50 for 3 boxes of cereal, a gallon of milk and 2 packs of Kraft Singles. Not too bad for a savings of 70%!
What you need to take out of this is you can combine store coupons with manufactures coupons along with catalinas to make a big difference at the grocery store. I didn’t need two packages of singles but they last a long time so I can keep them in the fridge until I do. And since I was going to buy the milk anyway (not too many good coupons for milk out there ) I essentially got the cereal for $1/ box. Since most of you probably don’t have that catalina there are coupons available at coupons.com shown above that give you up to $.55 off per box, which would make your deal even beter! Any questions?
