Have you heard of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library? In 1996 Dolly Parton launched a reading program for young children in her home town. She knows that literacy skills make quite the difference in life, so she decided to sponsor a program where kids age 0-5 can receive a free book in the mail, every month, to help further their love of learning and reading!
The program is available here in Anchorage. So, if you have kids under the age of 5, check it out! Kids love books AND love getting mail.
You can sign up here in town over the course of the next few weeks. Go here to learn more.
Miss the sign ups? The webpage is a little hit and miss, but if you’re lucky (I had to try 3 times and then the right page showed up?!) you can register online for this program.
Enjoy!

So glad you signed up and that it worked! i signed up online myself but it took a few tries before it worked – I'm eagerly awaiting our first books too.
I would like to give a big thanks for the information about the imagination library program. I signed my two year old up the other day. I had no problem finding the link on the web site and today received an email confirming his registration. He should get his first book in about six weeks. I will let you know when he gets his first book. Thanks again and keep up the great work.
